How a consultation works
Most people don't deal with lawyers every day, so here is exactly what happens, from the moment you book to the moment you decide. The first consultation is free for employment and human rights matters.
- 1Today
You book
Choose a time online, or email us. You don't need any documents yet, and nothing you send at this stage is a commitment.
- 2Within one business day
We run a conflict check
A lawyer can't act for both sides of the same dispute. So before we hear the details, we confirm we haven't acted for the other party, such as your employer or the school. It's a short check, and we email you as soon as it's done.
- 3At the time you chose
Your consultation
By video or phone, in English or Arabic. You tell us what happened. We listen, then explain your options in plain language. Ask anything.
- 4Whenever you're ready
You decide
If you'd like more help, we explain the cost before any work starts, in writing. If not, there's no obligation and no charge.
Please don't send documents or confidential details until we've confirmed we can act for you. Once we have, we'll tell you exactly what to send.

The advice given by my lawyer was invaluable. She handled the case with great care and professionalism.
She was patient, empathetic, and made sure my voice was heard.
She was thorough in her research and kept me informed throughout the process.
Shared with each client's written consent. Every matter is different, and past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
Questions people ask us
Is the first consultation really free?
Yes, for employment and human rights matters. For education and other matters, we explain the fees before any work begins.
What is a conflict check?
A lawyer can't act for both sides of the same dispute. Before we discuss your matter, we check that we haven't acted for the other party. That's why the form asks for their name. The check is confidential and usually takes a business day.
Do I need to come to an office?
No. Everything happens by video or phone, wherever you are in Ontario.
Can we speak in Arabic?
Yes. You can speak with us in English or Arabic, and the whole website is available in Arabic.
What should I have ready?
Nothing special. If you have letters, emails or a contract, keep them nearby. Please don't send confidential details until we've confirmed we can act for you.
