It protects against discrimination and harassment in employment, housing, services, contracts and memberships, based on grounds including race, place of origin, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability and family or marital status.
Is there a deadline to file with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario?
Generally, an application must be filed within one year of the last incident. Speak with a lawyer early.
Does my employer have to accommodate me?
Employers must accommodate needs related to protected grounds up to the point of undue hardship. Accommodation is a two-way process.
